Preds Manage Only 52 Shots On Goal During Road Trip

Even with a win on Saturday, Nashville's shooting woes continue.

During their three game Western Canada swing, the Nashville Predators finished with a 1-2-0 record, but, most notably, only scored 4 goals and only put 52 shots on goal during the duration of the trip.

That’s an average of 17.333 shots per game – and it’s drastically skewed by the Vancouver game in which exactly half of the series shot total occured.

Patric Hornqvist led all Nashville shooters on the road trip with 7 shots on goal. Shea Weber had the second most with 6. Neither Weber nor Hornqvist managed to put a puck in the net.

Most telling, however, are the team’s woeful third periods. Against Edmonton, the Predators managed to put only 3 shots on net. Against Vancouver, the managed to shoot a road trip high 7 shots in the third period, before going to Calgary and putting up only 2.

The following chart lists all shots taken by Nashville during the three game road trip. As the chart shows, the Predators took 19 of their 52 shots during the series from outside of 50 feet. Three of the four Nashville goals were scored on shots inside of 12 feet.
