Spaling Gets First Career Road Goal in Preds Win

In 137 prior regular season and playoff games, the Nashville forward had never scored away from Bridgestone Arena. The Predators record improves to 9-0-1 all-time when Spaling registers a goal.

Prior to Monday night, Nashville’s Nick Spaling had 10 career regular season goals and 2 career playoff goals through 137 career regular and postseason games. All 12 of those goals were scored at Bridgestone Arena.

However, at 12:21 of the third period, number 13 scored career goal number 13 to give the Predators a 2-1 lead over the Edmonton Oilers – a lead they would maintain until the final horn.

Nashville has now won all but one game in which Spaling has tallied a goal. In the other game, last Saturday’s tilt against Columbus, Nashville squeaked out an overtime point. In other words, the Predators have never lost a game in regulation when Spaling has scored.

Including the playoffs, the Predators are 9-0-1 in games in which Spaling registers a goal. In addition, five of his 13 career playoff and regular season goals have been game-winners.
